 WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE DOWNLOADS AND WILL THEY WORK ON MY PC?

Our downloadable audiobooks are supplied in one of two formats, as required by the Publisher concerned. The formats are encoded wma, or unlicensed mp3, and each title description shows which format it comes in.

If your title is supplied in unlicensed mp3 format, it will play fine on any up to date Mac or PC computer, and on virtually all portable players. By using Advanced Search on the site you can filter on Format/mp3, and list only the mp3 titles. We offer nearly 900 titles in this format, and more are being added daily.

If your audio comes as encoded wma, it will not currently license and play on a Mac. This is as a result of the withdrawal of support by Microsoft for their Windows Media Player for Mac product, and as such is beyond our control.

On the wma's you'll see a warning at the checkout to this effect.
